40 Over 40 Feature: Meet Vicki

When I first connected with Vicki, one thing was very clear: she is a woman who lives life fully, joyfully, and unapologetically. At 61, she radiates a mix of excitement, happiness, and optimism that makes you want to get on the dance floor with her!

For over 25 years, Vicki has worked as a financial advisor, and she still loves what she does. She has grown her business, even purchasing another practice in Florida, and she speaks with confidence about the joy she finds in helping her clients reach their goals. What struck me most was how she balances her work ethic with a zest for life. Vicki is the first to admit she’s a bit of a workaholic, but she also knows the importance of celebrating, dancing, and living in the moment.

Dancing really is her thing—whether it’s live music, line dancing, or even a dancing app that teaches her new moves. If there’s music, she’s on the dance floor. “That’s when I’m happiest,” she told me with a laugh. It’s no surprise her session outfits included a black dress with a feathered neckline paired with her sage green cowboy hat—because, of course, we were did some dancing in the studio!

Beyond the dance floor, Vicki’s life is full of rich experiences. She and her husband of 30 years share a love for ballroom and swing dancing, riding Harleys, traveling (she has Bora Bora and overseas trips on her list), and spending time with their family, including four grandchildren. Her home is the kind of place where kids get to make memories with a popcorn machine, cotton candy machine, and even a snow cone machine.

This year brought both joy and heartache for Vicki. She lost her father in February after 61 years of marriage to her mother, a loss that caused her to reflect deeply on whether she’s truly making the most of life. Her answer was a resounding… yes!

She spends time doing craft classes, cooking, and enjoying unique travel experiences—like washing elephants or visiting kangaroos and sloths.

When I asked her how she wants to feel when she sees her portraits, her answer was simple: “Comfortable and happy.” And that’s exactly who she is—a woman grounded in her accomplishments, grateful for her experiences, and excited for what’s still ahead. “It’s just a number,” she said about age. “It’s how you’re living it.”

Vicki is a reminder that life after 40 isn’t about slowing down—it’s about embracing every moment, dancing whenever the music plays, and living with joy.
